Full course meals normally begin with precursors to a main dish, such as an appetiser or soup, followed by the main course(s), and they are finished off with sweets, coffee, and tea.

Soups being an integral part are also considered as healthy. Here is one of variety loved right from an infant to adult.


Beetroot and tomato are two ingredients among many which goes along perfectly well together. This combination not only makes the soup richer but more healthier.


Lets begin with the recipe

BEETROOT AND TOMATO SOUP


                   BEETROOT AND TOMATO SOUP

TYPE : SOUP
SERVES: 4
TIME for Prep : 45 mins

Ingredients:

4 medium size beetroots(peeled and chopped in cubes)

4 medium size tomatoes(chopped in cubes)

1 tblspoon Olive oil

3-4 chopped shalots/1 chopped onion

2-4 cups water

1 tspn red chillie powder

1 tspn sugar

salt to taste

black pepper to taste

1tblsp wheat flour

Instructions:

Heat a pressure Pan or Instant hotpot on medium to high heat. Put 1 tblspn Olive Oil, chopped shallots or onions saute for couple of seconds on medium to low heat. As soon as it changes some color.

Add peeled and chopped beetroots and saute on medium to high heat. Add 1 tsp chillie powder,stir for next 2-3 mins.

Add chopped tomatoes stir it on medium to high heat till tomatoes are turn Little soft. Add water to the level till all is merge.

 Let it cook with a pressure upto 2 whistle or until every thing comes soft.

Let the mixture be cool and blend it all together with a hand blender or in the jar blender.

Pour the blended mixture into the pressure Pan/hotpot to boil it further again 4-5 mins.

Meanwhile, add salt, sugar here and water if required, . Add the tblspn of wheat flour to the soup and stir till it dissolves. It adds more flavor and thickness to the soups.

Finally, add crushed pepper and serve hot.
