Chia seed is a native of Mexico. Chia seeds are oval and grey with black and white spots, despite their tiny size chia seeds are packed with essential nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and fiber.

CHIA SEEDS LADOOS


FOR 10- 12 MEDIUM SIZE LADOOS


INGREDIENTS:


1 CUP CHIA SEEDS

1 CUP COCONUT MILK/ MILK

4 TBLSPN WATER

1 CUP JAGGERY

1 CUP GRATED COCONUT

1/2 TSP CARDAMOM POWDER

1/4 CUP GHEE/ COCONUT OIL

1/4 CUP DATES( OPTIONAL)

1/4 CUP RAISINS(OPTIONAL)

1/4 CUP ROUGHLY CHOPPED CASHEWS/ALMONDS

1/4 CUP ROUGHLY CHOPPED WALNUTS


INSTRUCTIONS:


In a bowl take 1 cup of chia seeds, 1 cup coconut Milk and soak it overnight or atleast 4-5 hours.

Put a Pan on a Low -Medium heat,add water and jaggery to it, mix intill the jaggery gets dissolved completely.


Add dates and raisins and mix until the water evaporates. keep stirring it on Low heat and see that the bottom is clear.


Add soaked chia seeds and mix till it all comes together. Add ghee and nuts(CHOPPED OR COARSELY grinded), cardamom powder.


Mix well till it comes all together. Turn off the heat and transfer the mixture into a dish.


Once its warm take a small portion of the mixture by a spoon and roll it with palms to make it round small size balls. This is called as Ladoos.


Roll all the mixture to small balls also called as ladoos. ENJOY when warm or till it takes its shape. Its a great source of energy.


These can be stored in Refrigerator for 2-3 days.
