                       SAALAN RECIPE

TIME REQUIRED:30 mins

Ingredients:

2 tblsp Desiccated coconut 

2 tblspn Sesame seeds

2 tblspn Peanuts 

3 tblspn oil

2 Medium size sliced onions

1 tsp Mustard seeds

1 tsp Cummin seeds

1 tsp Coriander powder

1 tsp Cummins power

1 tblspn Ginger garlic paste

Some curry leaves

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Tamarind pulp

Jaggery

salt to taste


Directions:

In a flat Pan dry toast peanuts,sesame seeds,desiccated coconut on medium heat. 

Grind all the above mixture to fine paste when the mixture cools down.

Heat some Oil in a pan add chopped/sliced onion and saute well till it softs and keep them aside on a plate. 

In the same Pan on low-medium heat take some oil, add mustard seeds,cummin seeds, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric, cummin powder. 

Saute it and add the grinded mixture, add water and bring it to 
a good boil for 15 minutes on low heat.

After a good boil add tamarind pulp,salt, jaggery. Mix all together, add soft fried onions now and cook for some time with lid on for next 10 minutes.

Serve hot with Biryani or Rice dish.
